Therapy options

What I offer

I am trained in both Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. This enables me to tailor a treatment plan individual to your needs. I offer therapy sessions either over the telephone or via video call.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT can help you to change the relationship you have to physical and emotional pain. It can help you to manage difficult thoughts and emotions in a different way so you can create a rich, valued and meaningful life. It can help you develop mindfulness skills to encourage you to be in the “here and now” rather than being caught up in the past or worrying about the future. It can help you to be kinder to yourself and help you discover the ‘you’ you want to be, enabling you to make long lasting changes.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT can help you to understand and change the vicious cycle you may be trapped in with your physical feelings, thoughts, emotions and behaviours. It provides a structured approach to learn tools and coping strategies to approach things differently. It can help you to challenge negative thoughts and take small steps to do more or face situations you are avoiding. Although the main focus is on the ‘here and now’, you can talk about your personal history to help you understand your current difficulties.
